Abstract
Singapore pursue a bio hub of Southeast Asia now. However, it is no longer true. In fact, the successful story has been exaggerated and the remarkable progress of her bio industry turned out to be a bubble. The strong dependence on foreign technology, the lack of challenge of entrepreneurs, and long-run perspective prevent Singapore's bio industry from developing to a full-fledged scale. The case of Singapore is a valuable lesson for Korea's bio industry. The Korean bio industry should sustain a spirit of entrepreneurs and try its best in establishing independence in terms of technology and human resources. Especially, it has to maintain a long run- perspective with the support from the Korean government and business circle in Korea, while fighting against the strong wave of new market liberalism.
