Abstract

The study was designed to investigate the Vietnamese students' career stress and practicing career exploration while studying in Korea. In-depth interview with eight Vietnamese students attending A University in Korea and two Korean professors were conducted using qualitative research method to derive key themes and content. The interview data was collected from October 2016 to August 2017. The results of this research were divided into two categories: career stress and career exploration behavior. Career stress were divided into 3 components: career change stress, job-seeking stress, career stress by family. Vietnamese students had career change stress, graduate school major selection stress, job-seeking anxiety, lack of career preparation stress, career stress by their family. The results of career exploration behavior were divided into 3 components: career information acquisition from Vietnamese college senior, career information acquisition from Korean professors and college, extracurricular activities for career exploration. Based on the results, the implication and the limitation of this study were discussed.
