Debate on North Korean Nuclear Issue from Chinese Perspective

Abstract
The North Korean nuclear issue is a major challenge to Chinese foreign policy makers in North-East Asia. It concerns Chinese vital strategic interest. How to denuclearize North Korea and ensure the survival the North Korea regime is a big problem facing Chinese Foreign policy makers. As for the reason concerning difficulties of denuclearizing North Korea, Chinese scholars have different viewpoints. Generally there are four kinds of reasons: first, the failure of cooperation, second, North Korea responsibility, third, American responsibility, finally, Chinese responsibility. As for the Chinese attitude toward North Korea, there are three kinds: one group of scholars advocate for limited support, one group of scholars advocated for providing security, one group of scholars advocate for a severe relationship with North Korea. To understanding Chinese Scholars Debate on North Korea`s nuclear issue, scholars should look at it in three dimensions: first, Chinese national interest without ideology, Integration of China into the International system, severe security competition between China and US.
